My Personal Gardener trained crews start by blowing debris from mulch beds and landscaping beds. Then we cut back old perennials and plants in the landscape mulch beds. We also edge the mulch beds to re-define them and keep them separated from the lawn. Finally we prune all plants for shape and form, then install a fresh layer of hardwood bark mulch. It does not decompose well, and creates a crust on the top layer of the mulch, which inhibits airflow and creates an ideal habitat for diseases.

Mowing a lawn correctly is the most important thing for your grass. Correct mowing techniques will improve the health of a lawn even without the use of chemicals. Mowing the grass at a height of no less than 3.5 inches is the proper height. Depending on the type of turf grass in the lawn, even taller than 3.5 inches tall might be beneficial. I will determine the best cultural practices for your lawn during a free consultation and estimate.
Using the correct type of lawn mower for specific lawns is also important. We select the proper lawn mower for each lawn. The decision is made by request, or by the nature of the lawn size and terrain. A common mistake is for lawn mowing companies to use too large of a lawn mowing machine for the actual lawn size being mowed. Mowing a lawn with the wrong size lawn mower can cause damage to the terrain, and turf grass.

I got my start while growing up in the family landscaping business. After serving my country in the Army, I continued my landscaping career in the Indianapolis, Carmel, Noblesville, and Westfield Indiana areas.
